In the heart of the Caribbean, the District Grand Lodge of Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada stands as a beacon of Freemasonry, encompassing a vibrant community of thirteen lodges across these island nations. With eleven Daughter Lodges under its wing in Trinidad, and one each in Tobago and Grenada, the District Grand Lodge exemplifies a rich tradition of fellowship, charity, and mutual respect that spans the beautiful islands.

This notable event was held in the grandeur of a transformed Radisson Ballroom, marking a new chapter for the District Grand Lodge. The installation of Brother Louis Jean Baptiste not only signifies a leadership transition but also reinforces the continued commitment to the Masonic values of brotherly love, relief, and truth across Trinidad, Tobago, and Grenada.

A BRIEF HISTORICAL SUMMARY OF FREEMASONRY
It has been stated by both masonic and non-masonic historians and scholars alike, that Masonry as an order has existed from time immemorial, dating back thousands of years to the ancient days of antiquity. Though this point will forever remain a topic for discussion, we can definitively trace our origins back to the medieval stonemasons of the 12th century, who built the beautifully designed cathedrals across Europe in a Gothic style architecture that was totally new to the world, and never before seen at that point in time. These would have included the Amiens, Reims and Chartres Cathedrals in France, and the Kilwinning Abbey and Glasgow Cathedral in Scotland…….

The Young Masons Initiative
is a project of the Grand Lodge of Scotland with a focus on the younger brethren in the craft.
Young Masons Initiative
The District Grand Lodge of Trinidad and Tobago & Grenada through the Right Worshipful District Grand Master, Brother Luis Jean Baptiste introduced the brethren to the project at a Town Hall meeting in early 2023. He then selected a brother in keeping with the meaning of ‘Young Mason’ as was clearly defined by the Grand Lodge of Scotland and gave a broad directive to that young brother in relation to the project…….

MASONIC OUTREACH 2024 – “THE MORVANT MENTORSHIP INITIATIVE”
The need to connect the work and values of Freemasonry to our communities and societal needs is recognized by The District Grand Lodge of Trinidad and Tobago and Grenada (DGLTTG). In this regard, a programme entitled The Morvant Mentorship Initiative (MMI) was initiated in August 2023. A similar Outreach, The East Port of Spain was undertaken in 2008 – 2012.
